Default Post project drive tourer storage tray

I have a 53 Z-T and the car has a space saver and tools in a single insert that fit in the spare wheel.

There is also a tray similar to this one without the lid that fits between the wheel and tool insert
http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=74172

Is this meant to be there? It does not fit well as there isn't much to support it.

Am I right in thinking if I get the foam inserts and tools it will be right or is it a different type of tray

This the best combination for the tools in the Tourer..

The foam tool holders are sometimes on Ebay.

I have the tray from the middle.
What I want to know is this normally there on later models or did they just have the wheel and tools in the circular insert?

The tool tray around the wheel well and the large cover were optional extras, the tooltray that fitted in the spare wheel was standard until around 2004 when the spare space saver wheel was replaced by a can of tyre repair foam.

Thanks, Need to source the foam then. Seems pointless having the large tray when there is nothing to support it except the spare wheel

Not sure if you are saying you have a spare wheel or not.
The cans are a waste of time, my car was supplied with one in 2003 and when I tried it on a wheel barrow wheel it was dud. Returned to Rover who said "not covered under warranty"
If you don't have a spare wheel suggest you buy a full size one on ebay (or from 'seancar' or a member) all sizes fit wheel well. Part worn tyre is O.K.
A space saver is also a waste of time, have a look at it's limitations.
With a full size, replacing a punctured wheel is straight forward and you can continue journey without limitations.

I have a space saver wheel, ill keep my eye out for a full sized spare.
Does the circular insert still fit in the wheel with the tray over on a full size spare?

Default Foam inserts and wheel size

Hi,

I have the tourer tray and foam inserts retro fitted to my 2005 Tourer, the 16" full sized spare fits perfectly but my understanding is that 17" and above won't fit.

If you want the foam inserts a member on here Rog is selling some if you are interested
