It's a very common problem, and the short answer is no not really.

I had to buy a replacement lens assembly for mine. The previous owner had left it with just gaffer tape holding it in place on the car.

Some members have used silicone sealant to keep it in place, and don't forget to check the stupidly brittle white ball joint retaining clips that hold the other side of the lens in place.

These can snap on removal or refitting. They are cheap to buy, and are best fixed onto the lamp first before offering back up to the car.

Tourer Rear Lamp Ball Joint Clips

If both your ball joint clips are good, it will help in keeping the lamp assembly in place.

I fixed mine using a flat bike spanner (see atttached pic) I bent it over to 90 degrees and drilled couple holes in it and a couple of matching holes in the remaining plastic fixing on the lens then attached with couple of screws.

Default fixed it

I fixed it all by myself, I unscrewed the light fitment, and attached a ring pull ( a asmall one) from a can of drink, attached to the remaining bit of the plastic flange so the loop of the ring pull made a screw hole , fitted it all back put screw through ring pull straight into body of car in the predrilled hole, incidently lost orginal screw so pinched one from a headboard, the flat ended one that attaches headboard to bed . happy days

I had the same problem, as well as the rivnut fixings that the screws fasten to, becoming loose and just turning, and the ball joint sockets breaki.
I used zinc coated washers glued on to where the plastic broke away.Much more sturdy now!
