Default Heat shield

Hi ,the other half in her 18 classic se came home with a bit of metal which she said fell off,I assume its some sort of heat shield,will it need fitting, and where is it located?Its about 9 by 8 and channel shaped.regards Paul.

Sounds like exhaust or CAT shield, (Between floor pan and pipework.) from near the front of the car. have you got a pic for us?

It's common for the heatshield fixings to corrode. My garage re-attached mine during a previous service, but I don't know what method they used.

Sorry no piccy as have not got the gubbings and the link dose not give me anything but a Yahoo search page.Any way thanks trying and her car hasn't caught fire yet! Regards.
