Rover 75 airbag light........need help!
Dear members,
Since April of this year I am the proud owner of a Rover 75 2.5V6 Sterling of 2000. And after having spend 'some' money and giving the car the very much needed mechanical TLC I even love it more! There's just one thing that my garage is not able to to resolve and that's the airbag light ... so would really appreciate some help in this as my garage is officially stuck now and doens't now how to proceed. Some history on this matter: When I bought the car, the airbag light was on. But I didnt worry since this is a common fault for a Rover 75. Garage analysed it with T4 and saw the following errocodes: *malfunction in the left side airbag sensor setting * Failure in the left side airbag sensor communication (Sorry, am translating from Dutch) Erasing the errorcodes didn't work; they would re-appear instantly. Next step: they took out the seats end removed the plugs for both the belt tensioners and side airbags, extended and soldered them. Erased the errorcodes but still the same result. Bought a used side airbag and connected it; same result. Checked wiring to side airbag: that is ok. Checked resistance of side airbag, that is also ok. Then tried to change settings in airbag ecu. That isn't possible without reprogramming the engine-ecu. And that is not possible because the airbag ecu is not recognized properly by the T4. So.. am stuck now and would really really appreciate some help in getting this fault out of the way! Thnx in advance, Gerard |
