For those who have not been to Oban, here's a pic of the tower. It's a perfect circle, created by a wealthy man who funded the tower (a long time ago, cant remember when, 1099'ish I think) to keep local stone masons busy during the hard winters.

Here is another with the early morning sun coming through the arches of the tower.
Another couple of nice shots there. Presumably you meant 1899?

Took some photo’s at my Nephews Wedding at the weekend, he’s top right, together with his cousins including my two daughters ‘front left, and centre’.
It’s amazing in this digital age the amount of captures you can get through, about 630 in my case, and I got quite a few keepers!
The photos clickable to see a few more, if your inclined!

Black Prince really brings back memories Simon. We went down to the West Somerset a few days after David Shepherd had moved her there, no engine shed, just a few old buildings, she was in steam and he took us for a short ride in the cab....fantastic stuff! and we bought a print of "On Shed as were remember Her"! If I was'nt on shift I would go.Pete.

Great shot in the Flikr gallery btw - single of bridesmaid in red dress, seen side-on, she's looking to the right of frame (pic number 66? - http://www.flickr.com/photos/10622924@N06/2514144801/).
Used 580 ex 11, bounced of ceiling with catch light reflector up for most of my shots, some I used a white pants diffuser over the flash.
Glad you liked them Simon.
That last puppy shot you posted, that’s not playing fair, tugging at heart string like that! Lol

Another "technical" one I took tonight, its the "phonic wheel" on the back of the Low Pressure turbine , this generates the turbine speed indication(the turbine that drives the huge fan on the front of the engine). The wheel is about 6" in diameter and has three speed sensors mounted around it and is similar in operation to the one on the flywheel of the V6 (Mr.Hs manual page 2B.28 fig 19.3 !)The only tricky bit with this one was the gap betwixt wheel (the grooved surface) and the sensors....we had to set it up to half a thou.Sorry the pictures a bit offset....I was inverted at the time!
