Front Ns door will unlock but not open
As titled the Ns front door has suddenly decided not to open. The door locks and unlocks, well at least the knob goes up and down but will not open by either the internal or external handles.
I am assuming this will require removing the door card with the door closed to access the mechanism and linkages. Any hints or tips on how to do so will be gratefully received and i should also mention that i have a good spare door card that could be fitted if the old is damaged in the process and as it's in better condition i'll probably do this anyway once i get the door open again.

I've had to do this job in the past. I used a large flat blade screwdriver to prise the door card from the top (carefully) I then reached in and pulled/pushed the threaded bar on the lock to open the door. My fault was the very common 'white clip' had slipped. HTH

I have the same exactly the same problem as Rogue. Hopefully the remedy is the same as yours. Can you tell me the part no of the 'white clip' on the door lock parts diagram? Cheers, Joda64 |

clips
This is the clip you are talking about? this is it on my rear drivers door when the same happened to it over christmas.. the threaded part popped down abit.
The white clip unclips (unfolds) from the inner side. you can then re-position the threaded part so theres less thread showing and clip it back together.. its a bit fiddly but it works.. and the door opens again. Mine hasnt failed again yet. |

It ended up being the actuator that had gone on mine but the method for removing the card worked.... Eventually
