![]() I have never seen a gasket ,rubber or otherwise ,fitted to my power steering bottle cap. Mine has never had one fitted since i had the car. I wondered if other members have a gasket or seal on their caps .? ....... as i have never changed or replaced my original !!

![]() I remember from my days of servicing espresso machines, the seals between the group heads and handles would go hard over time and not seal properly...so of course I'd replace them. I too noticed that my bottle was leaking slightly....I thought the seal was missing...but no, it was there just that it was no longer pliable and sealed properly. Bought the replacement and all good now....just like my coffee machines.

![]() My seal arrived and fitted. There was indeed an existing seal in there which upon inspection, did not appear to be any different in size or appearance. Not flattened in any way or damaged/squashed. The only difference was that upon tightening of the cap, there was not the usual "sqeak" at the end of the thread when fully tight. All cleaned and "de-misted" the exterior of the bottle but not yet tested over a few number of miles to see if its stopped this small but annoying spray residue . ...
