The parcel shelf refused point blank to part company with the car - if I tug it any harder something will break. I did manage to raise the forward edge just enough to gain access to the metal beneath - so I may be able to fit the brackets just by holding it there with a few blocks of wood. The only snag is the red fir tree that pokes through to the boot. It's one of those snap-off jobs. I snapped it off to raise the shelf but I won't be able to replace it because there's not enough access room. The pic on page 5 of the above pdf shows its position. The question is, will the shelf rattle with no fir tree (or substitute bolt) to hold it down in the centre? |

Finally fixed the little blighter. I managed to get the shelf out with the rear seat still in place (minus headrests). I even managed to replace the big red fir tree.
I toyed with the idea of fitting the sunblind but I'm not touching that accursed shelf again - it was designed by a sadist. All that's left to do is tidy up the excess harness .... and find the 10th trim clip that scarpered and is now hiding somewhere under the seats. |
