Diesel starter motor removal
Am I correct in thinking the 2 bolts marked with green are the ones that need to be removed? Can I hell get the lower one to budge

More fun, there are actually 3 bolts holding it. combination spanners, 3/8" drive sockets with "waggly" extensions, it's actually quite easy. Just undo or move all the stuff that gets in your way.

There are only 2 bolts that hold it to the bell housing, the upper green dot is not a bolt location, it's higher up and has the negative lead attached to it.

Hi Graham.
As above only two bolts one is a bolt and the oher bolts and nut combined click the link Arctic http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=227316 PS maybe also check out the EGR solenoid hose that is hanging free in your photo.

To remove the lower bolt/nut you will need a 13mm ring spanner and a 15mm ring spanner don't worry you will not sheer the bolt, even if you did it would still come out all you would have to do is replace, it takes some force to crack the joint first time. The top nut use a good 13 socket and extension it help also if you remove the EGR for a while and set the hose out of the way. photo's showing the top bolts

THAT'S the money shot right there. Nice one Mike, just what was needed. Arctic's instructional is missing its pics. Been scratching my melon for days trying to spot that chuffing top bolt (even whipped off the intake manifold in the search and get some extra light on the subject) (...also lost my wedding ring into the *!!?@ing undertray so now that's gotta come off... jeeez will the torture never cease?!) Yes sorry it is one of the threads that need the photos replacing after PB decided to destroy all the threads with photos which were used by them. It seems Mike may have kept some of my original photos 1 2 3
