Sorry to here your misfortune Ros3, as long as your ok & managed to get it fixed that's the main thing.

To willie480 I do hope you have placed a claim with Ayrshire Roads Alliance.
I know the hole you hit and it took them ages to fix it. The roads around Tarbolton are simply not acceptable these days, I reckon the worst in the entire area.
As you may know both our 75's are now on SORN and we are running a Jaguar XF. I was unlucky on day 13 with it when I hit a pothole coming up the Stair road and wrecked a front tyre so I now have a claim with the above.
As for the weather well it was a bit wintry and luckily I suppose as I have had a "man cold" I was not out during most of it but I did get stuck the first day in a back street in Mauchline after visiting the dentist.
I had to knock up an old guy, well 5 years older than me to borrow a shovel to spread some salt on the curve.
On hindsight it was just after that when I came down with the "man cold"
Had to pull out of the Burns supper this evening because of it, even after the missus used a half bottle of 10 year old then proceeded into a new 12 year old Glenfiddich just for toadies !!!!

No wonder I slept so much.

Yes both the 75's are on SORN, I'm keeping the V6 and selling the diesel.
Just haven't had time to get it fully prepared as we lost the missus's father on 5th January then I had another bout of "man cold"

Just out for the first today and fitted the Boss's plates onto the XF but we inherited the cherished plates it came on, so my son Chris is getting them for his "Fireblade"

With ref to post 21 where I had the misfortune to damage a front tyre on the XF after hitting a pot hole.
Today I received a letter from Ayrshire Roads Alliance accepting responsibility for the damage caused and have refunded me for the cost of the tyre.

So remember anyone if this happens to you, take plenty of photos and check Google Earth as I did which showed clearly the road was in an appalling state. Don't give up and place your claim for damages.

Glad you got a good result.
