I agree with the Yaris recommendation. I used to work at a Toyota dealership and they're nippy, economical & reliable little things.

Actually they were based on the Fiat 127 tooling.

I'd have said a Rover 25, suggested the same to the good lady but she decided on a Fiesta mk6, had it since February of this year and to date - touch wood - it's been very reliable.

Bah, was about to say a Ford Ka! Dirt cheap to insure, maintain and such. Fun to drive as standard and good on fuel.

I bought one for my first car, last May, immediately put a Ford Puma engine in it, strapped a turbo on to it, then had it put on coilovers, put anti roll bars in and such.
Went like a blummin' rocket! Of course, I declared all this to my insurance company too.

Hi Leopard...Wise choice, the other cars would have been excellent choices as well, but the Yaris will serve you well, economical, roomy and reliable.
