They're available a little cheaper on eBay, and are the genuine item, see below

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2807828019...84.m1423.l2649

Postage is 75p no matter how many you buy - well I guess there will be a limit but I have ordered 4.

The fixings on my Tourers rear lights have just split over years seem to be made of a very brittle plastic. I have given up now and they are held in place with clear silicone .

This takes me back...
Hang a strong magnet on a bit of string attached to where it will hold and go for a drive. If the magnet is strong enough the bolt will roll on to it and stick - pull string up to retrieve bolt an magnet.

Default Brittle clips

I bought a couple of genuine clips from the x MG dealer in Taunton and I managed to break both trying to get the lamp on.
I fitted them in the body and offered the lamp up.
Perhaps it would have been better to place them on the lamp fittings first and then locating them in the sockets on the body.

Has anyone else found that these clips are naff ?
Changed a brake bulb this morning and did just that. Also put a spot of white grease on the ball end for the socket. OEM MGR ones are pretty fragile. I've got an extra metal clip on my light cluster which takes some of the load (I think Artic had a post on this).

Yes I've heard the later white coloured OEM retainers break too easily. The earlier grey ones seem to have a better track record, but still probably not indestructible. I've successfully fitted the greys to mine since the original whites snapped.
