Hi.
Does the MIL lamp not go out once the engine fires up? If so in your case it wont as you have a non running engine. You need to check the basics, do you have a spark at the plugs? do you have fuel. The in tank fuel filter can come apart which can lead to no fuel pressure. You will find many posts on the (FOC) Fabled "orange Clip", I'm sure that if either the cam or crank sensor is U/S it will throw up an error code.

have you got access to an OBD2 reader ?

That would then give you error code and you'd know where to look.
Doesn't need to be a T4 for this, but they aren't much use above just getting the codes and clearing the faults (which will of course return if fault hasn't been fixed).

Hi.
The OP explained in his post that there were no error codes, I would imagine he has access to a reader.

never known a MIL to come on and not register an error code though and OP says the light is on.
OBD2 would enable clear of faults and see if the light goes off and comes back on.

Could of course of meant error messages in IPK, got to cover all bases as not yet got my mind reading upgrade fitted

sounds like it could be the FOC (Fabled Orange Clip).

Do a search as lots of how-to's etc and what to check.

The clip holds the fuel filter together as they do tend to unscrew apart and then the car won't start.

It's a pretty easy fix and clip is only around a fiver from rimmer brothers.

Sounds like fuel filter syndrome. On mine though I still had some fuel coming through. Read on here and find thread on FFS or fabled orange clip. Loads of info. If that, what happens is the in tank fuel filter parts slightly so just recycles fuel in the tank instead of coming to the engine. If that very easy cheap fix!
Can you hear the fuel pump whirr a bit when you turn on ignition ( before firing)
You should.

Try and see first. If not problem could be with in tank fuel pump.

Just a couple of ideas.
