Default Diesel jatco box woes

Well as you may of read elswere on here i have just got a 2001 diesel tourer auto for my wife to use. It has a problem with harsh gear changing i have taken it to a gearbox specialist he comfirmed that all the solonoids are ok but the loom inside the box had shorted out and needed replacing.
so then he fitted a good s/h loom only to find the g/box ecu was now faulty So i ordered a another ecu from ebay making sure i got the same part number unit as the one fitted. That came yesterday but when he fitted it and its still does not work.
