Common for oil pump cooler pipe thread to strip?

TBH, if its not leaking i would leave it alone, its a big job to change the oil pump if things go wrong.
Hopefully you can just release the cooler unions without issue but these can corroded and not undo without twisting the pipe work. Any reason why you're changing the cooler? |

If the pipes are ok, i would just replace the cooler to save disturbing the housing connections.

Normally the other way around, the treads on the aluminium cooler strip, the pipe unions are steal.
