I need one of these.

Milwaukee you say?

Last time I did a crank bolt, I had an Iveco Truck dealer with an alleged 1000nm gun unable to shift. Ended up with 5ft scaffold, and I was bouncing up and down level with the rear quarter panel at the back of the car.

I was using 3/4" tooling too, and had it covered in towels in case the joint/anything shattered, things were that serious. Possibly the single worst job I can ever remember doing.

having said that, I now have a specially modified crank pulley tool, with all this impact talk, I'd honestly be really wary of the shocks going through the crank tbh, mind you, no-one has actually reported any issues so far, so just pure paranoia I suppose on my part.

As long as you have the pulley held by the tool the forces won't be going down the crankshaft - they all stay at the end you are working on.

The one I had was crazy tight though.

Hi,

Im seriously considering the Ryobi with a 4ah or 5ah battery. Their vast range of tools seems a great idea with one battery / charger for all.
I assume you are happy with it?

Very happy with it , I haven't found a nut yet that it won't undo , including drive shaft nuts and the rear suspension on the 18 year old ford explorer which had never been changed as far as I can tell.
Get the biggest battery (5 I think) and keep it charged.

One other thing is never charge the battery straight after using it as it will blow the charger up as I found out but ryobi exchanged it without charge so pretty good customer service as well

Thought you just set the breaker bar on the pulley bolt so handle near ground and turn the car over !

I would have thought putting a battery on the charger after using it would be a normal action by most owners? Strange but will bear it in mind. I think Mrs Santa may be shopping for impact wrench this year

That's what I thought but talking to their customer service people if you use it for a while the battery gets warm and when you plug it into the charger it pops , strange but true as I found out
