Took Redfive for a run, then came home and took The a Flying Banana out to give her a run as well.

Tried to do put a clutch in but couldn't undo the nut on the end of the drive shaft. Broke two breaker bars and even the windy gun didn't shift it. Time to break out the big boy tools.

GSM control box for FBH
Today I prepared and fitted cell phone control for the fuel burning heater + 1 aux.
Pre prepared and taped the looms to make it easier to install. Used an external aerial for better reception, 1 lead for power, ground and FBH pin 3 underbonnet (using spare fuse station in engine fuse box) and 1 to go inside for an aux control later. The box mounted easily on some existing studs and is IP65 (waterproof (well after I re-sealed it, the prep from the seller was a bit naff)) then ran cables using existing clips and pipework for minimal clutter Couple of tips... bootlace ferrules made wiring up much much easier when it came to getting the ends into the terminals.. And IMPORTANT... make sure your 2014 GSM box is this way up when you mount it, otherwise the SIM card can vibrate out!!! MAJOR DESIGN FLAW!

Looks an excellent job!
I suppose you could put a piece of insulation Tape the size of the Sim over the top just to be doubly sure even this way orientated.

Such a nice day. Too nice for any oily stuff so I done some cosmetic improvements.
I . . . . . removed the black armrest and gaitors. Dyed the Sandstone armrest and two gaitors I had to Smokestoned fittend them, I also dyed a wee bit of wear on the steering wheel. There seems to be a lot of leather on the handbrake gaitor I gave the OEM Rover mats some TLC and fitted them back in the car . . .

I thought that too when I replaced my handbrake gaiter with a leather one. I found that I needed to push the excess leather down in the gap on each side of the handbrake lever, starting it off before refitting to into the centre console, and then finishing it off when all clicked into the console. I found that a 12-inch ruler was good for working the fold of leather down into the gap.
(Actually I just realised that this picture is in fact the old gaiter, not the new leather one, but it still illustrates what the new one looks like after tucking the fold of excess leather down each side of the handbrake lever using a ruler.) I decided today was the time to remove my starter motor and give the solenoid some replacement parts to stop my intermittent starting.
From start to finish in about an hour and she starts every time now and now a happy bunny .
