You're probably going to get a different answer from every poster. Basically dependent on what you are prepared to pay.

Mines on 18" rims, tyres 225/45, when I bought it was fitted with 3 mixed Dunlops and 1 other, the brand escapes me, handling was not good.

Fitted Continental Sport Contact 3's, expensive but good grip and to date they've covered well over 10K.

You're right Jim personal taste

I moved from conti M3's due to the walls splitting. I'm a convert of 18" 225 and 235 Toyo Proxes T1R

True Tim the Contis are easily damaged with a "tap".

I have Coninental Sport Contact 3 all round, and the sidewalls are fragile too.

The grip in the wet is disgraceful, so avoid if this is important to you.

However, the side walls are very rigid, almost like runflats.

One of my tyres was punctured by a piece of metal on a motorway, and there was a massive bang, but because of the stiffness of the sidewalls, the tyre maintained its profile quite well, allowing me to safely pull off the motorway and change it.

They are also quiet too on good surfaces, and grip reasonably well in the dry.

As I live in Scotland and its mostly wet, my next lot will be UniRoyal Rainsport 2's. Cheaper than most other "premuim" brands also.
