Default Government to cancel £8BN Eurofighter order.

The third and largest batch of Euro Fighters being built in the UK is to be cancelled
according to a Leaked MOD Document. (Published in Sunday Express and other Papers today)
This the Government say will save over £8 Billion pounds which is urgently needed for other areas.

The Planes have been of no use in current operations in either Iraq or Afghanistan,
so they see no need for them now

The Cancellation charge is about £1.5 Billion pounds and the loss of over 3,000 jobs.

The short sightedness of the government really does beggar belief.

Perhaps we will end up buying Raptors and all the costs that will entail.....still we had no need for TSR-2 did we....then spent a fortune building the MRCA...ne Tornado, which did most of what TS could do.Government ideas eh...you know it makes sense.P.

Why dont we just let the yanks have a raptor airbase in the uk for our protection. Then they can take the cost off my utility bills...who needs Gordon Brown.

Spotted this one..

What will they do next? Issue plastic swords instead of guns? After all the US has lots of guns, do WE really need our own?
