Whatever happened to corporal punishment?

Family meal-times?

Curfews (parental control)

Seemed to work well when I grew up (although I still wince when mum has the wooden spoon in her hand ) Never did me any harm. Did teach me a lot of respect. I learned early on, that if you wanted to be "naughty" then don't get caught, and if you do get caught, don't tell your parents)

Recently in Cardigan a small group of 9 year olds were caught out on the streets at 1amm DRUNK!!

Time to bring back the birch and parental accountability. That's my rant

Thumbs up Manifesto

I think the time is ripe to unveil the Silent Majority Party Manifesto. Like most good democratic processes, the content of the manifesto is open to ideas and suggestions from the proletariat, so if you would like to offer your proposals, they will be reviewed by the executive (all good democratic bodies have an unelected executive) and included in the manifesto.

Here are a few items for starters:
  • Re-introduction of capital punishment for crimes such as murder, offenses against children and terrorism
  • Re-introduction of corporal punishment for more serious "anti-social" offenses, e.g. Burglary, car theft, assault
  • Wide scale review of "Political Correctness" to include the return of Christian celebrations e.g. "Christmas"
  • Ensure that parents are responsible for the behaviour of their offspring
  • Raise the age of consent to 18 and the legal age for the consumption of alcohol to 21
  • Get rid of ineffective CCTV and re-introduce real community policing - i.e. local police officers living in police houses in the local community
  • Re-introduce discipline and morality teaching in schools
  • Teach worthwhile life skills including the 3 R's and "social skills in schools
  • Re-establish "traditional family values"
  • Re-establish full and thorough border controls

That’s my starter for 10. It might seem like I would advocate the introduction of a harsh totalitarian regime, but I would like to see a return to the values I grew up with 50 years ago. Here's hoping.........

Now what would you like to see from the Silent Majority Party?

>>> ?

It may surprise you to know that schools DO teach all of the above....

True, it is variable according to area.....I would suggest the success or otherwise is more a reflection on the parents.....most kids, most of the time are fine...imho...
