Unhappy Computer woes

As you may have read in the past I have a few problems with my computer. Last time, having taken to PC World, it 'lost' all data but Peter,(Klarzy), talked me through it on how to retrieve everything.

Well, we have another problem. Everything works perfectly ok emails, news, weather, I can download from my camera and I can send pictures via email.
But I cannot get onto the internet. My provider is BT but they are no help at all. Whenever I try to get onto the net all I get is a blank white screen with a little wheel spinning next to the cursor. I cannot get onto this forum or onto any other site.

I have turned the power off at source, unplugged everything, then left it for 24 hours and re-connected everything. The computer is telling me that I have full connection to the internet. Except I cannot get anything.

Do I chance it and take back to PC World or can someone help me on here please?

What browser are you using? Also are you on wifi or a cable that's plugged into the computer from the router?

Do you see a little yellow circle near where the time is displayed?

Also try Internet Explorer with no add ons, thus can be found going to start, all programmes , accessories, system tools, Internet Explorer (no add-ons)

On cable.
Internet Explorer but cannot change onto anything else as all I get is a blank white screen. Tried clicking onto 'change your browser'.
No sign of a Yellow Circle.

On Windows 8.1 if that's any help.

Currently using iPad.

Have you tried rebooting the router?

Also are you using the app version of Internet Explorer or the full programme?

Move your mouse to top right of screen so the side bar pops up and click on the search icon and type in Internet Explorer, it should give you a list of Internet Explorer programmes installed and choose the no add ons one.

Felt like kicking the router. Yes I have re-booted.

Full version of Internet Explorer.

And have tried the third option. Result blank screen.

Thanks

That looks like your using the app version of internet explorer.

Can you get to the start screen, then right click and click on the down arrow bottom left, this should load all the programmes and apps that are installed, try and find internet explorer and photo what you have listed.
