![]() Hi was reading my ZTT 190 book and it says 95 Ron standard but for maximum performance 97/98 Ron.
So question is how many use big Ron in place of little Ron ? |

![]() Engine is tuned for 95 RON fuel, but a lot of people will tell you that using 97RON fuel makes their car do 90MPG and make them more attractive to the opposite sex etc etc.
Normal unleaded from branded stations is my advice ![]() Brian ![]() |

![]() It probably makes sense that a 190 might be better with high octane, given it's extra bit of "tune".
But I think I'm correct in saying 95 RON is recommended for the other models and they actually need a T4 to run best on higher octane. Hence it's most likely money wasted. But each to their own, if they do use it.

![]() i run a 75 2.0 cdt i know its diesel not petrol but ive tried all the best and branded diesel out there and believe it or not the car is happiest running on asda diesel 117.8p per litre and returns 43mpg around town.
So my advice is stick with what you happy with the more expensive isnt always the best. |

![]() make no odds really at all however I tend to use premium fuel at the minute as its still cheap and my former student at Total Fina Elf once explained with extreme tedium what all the extra additives did!
so I think use what you want!!! I choose higher octane but for nothing other than sentimental reasons! |

![]() I put 98RON in my KV6 only because there was no 95RON at that pump. Thought I detected better high speed performance but rougher at low revs, so perhaps the retune mentioned is required.
Will stick to branded 95RON in future. Car returns 30.7 mpg over the last 1000 miles, most of it urban hence an average speed of only 27mph. |
