Very nice indeed, and a pic of my dash in here too

I was lucky that I had a spare early rhodum dash with the metal back to paint up. It would have broken my heart to paint up a real walnut one.

Quick comparison between a "real wood" metal dash and the "plastic" ones.

Look at the gaps!

I have no idea

I got a guy at a bodyshop to do it. He did admit he'd never done anything like it before, and there are a few cuts / splotches on the paint, but it looks good overall.

So, on the wooden dash one the vent sits on it rather than in it ???? looks a better fit !

The early Rhodium dash had the steel back plates as well and the vents sit in better. Another Project Drive deletion.

I replaced the P.D. dash in mine with an earlier rhodium dash when I did the black dash mod.

I found a couple of "during" pictures as well (must stress - I didn't paint it!)

Looks very good.
Personally I think doing this in say Gloss Black.....giving a Piano Black look would suit a 75 or a ZT for that matter very nicely indeed.
I keep toying with this idea as I like the Dark Oak, but don't fancy paying over £100 for it.

You don't need dark oak, just get a wooden dash and paint it gloss black, that is what I did with mine,

You get the colour you want and the better fit and quality of a wood dash, best of both worlds...
