An update - I had a quick moment to pop out the driver's switch panel over the weekend. The credit card tip worked a trick to unclip the switch assembly from the door handle without actually damaging/scratching anything.
I un-plugged and re-plugged the two loom connectors - result: no success; the switches stubbornly refused to work. So I bit the bullet and disassembled the switch, had a look at the rubber membrane and the PCB. The PCB showed no evidence of oxidation, and the rubber membrane looked pretty clean. I just gave everything a quick puff of air and reassembed. Result? The panel works perfectly. Very odd. Smacks of an electrical short, but no idea how or where or how I fixed it, but I am happy |
