Just found how to post pictures.
It will have to wait until tomorrow when I take some new ones.

Looks like I'm a bit of a plonk!

Hi, just to confirm, the multifunction window/mirror switch is a simple fix, and a common fault on a car that has stood - minor oxidising on the contacts. Thanks to this forum, I got mine back to full functions the day after I bought it, nearly a year ago. No regrets, touch wood, after some initial minor sorting, its proved to be a great buy. Enjoy!

Thank you to everyone who pointed me in the right direction to check out how to fix the electric mirrors switch and the drivers window switch.

The electric mirrors work perfectly and the drivers door window switch is better but still sticks on the way up if the window is completely down but from one third the way up works perfectly.

I can see this is going to be a love hate sort of relationship with this car.

Today got a new clutch master cylinder replaced as the old one was leaking and the clutch pedal had already stuck to the floor once. Didn't want that to happen again!

Then on my way home stopped to get out of the car to do a message and the drivers door won't open from the inside.

Another little job to sort out tomorrow. Skinned knuckles will be the order of the day!

Using the how to guide I got the drivers door card off without breaking anything.

But I had to admit defeat trying to get the lock out of the door. I could not disengage the clips on either end of the bar connecting the lock to the outside door handle. There isn't a lot of space to work in and I became afraid of using too much pressure and breaking the clips.

The cable is intact at the interior handle end but something must be broken at the lock end as the cable doesn't move or do anything.

So I put the door card back on and on Monday I will let the experts at the garage fix it.

I do so hate being beaten by something as small as a simple or not so simple clip.
