Default fbh??

a bit of a "new to diesels" question but what is the fuel heater burner. What is this and what does it do?

Basically it's a little diesel powered water heater that comes on automatically when you start the engine and the outside temp is less than 5'c to warm the engine up quicker.

They can be troublesome but are repairable. They are easy to retrofit but the little separate pump for them is hard to find secondhand as they are exposed under the car and corrode badly. They are available new but expensive.

a few people have modified the electrics so they can turn the heater on my text message or a timer and some have linked in the cabin heater too.
it helps warm the engine coolant in winter and reduce engine wear

You can also put an ordinary switch to work it. Very easy.

well worth having, especially with remote activation. I turn mine on by text about 20 mins before getting in the car so it's nice and warm. Couldn't be wthout it now in the winter
