Sorry Jamie should have put link, now can't find it anyway.
Tailgate Emergency Release. This only works of course when you can get inside Car using Key, Handy when Car Battery or remote Battery Dead. Fold the rear Seat-Backs down to-wards you to gain access to Load area. Remove the Loadspace Cover if Fitted. Release button either side then slots out. Careful its not light! Get into Loadspace area, and Twist the two turnbuckles quarter Turn Anti Clockwise, to release the Tailgate Storage Cover on rear Tailgate (Where Emergency Triangle and Yellow Jacket can be stored). Lever out the Plastic Tab and pull towards you to Release/Open Tailgate. This is Located Left hand side of area and opens right to left. Will Post Pictures when Taken again and Put in How To Section. Hope this Helps, Its Late and Brain wants to Shutdown now. |

Thanks John.....found it now....interestingly MG Norman who has worked on these cars since they were launched didnt know it was there either. well done.
The Saga is now over....I watched Norman struggle for over 4 hours to remove, then refit the Alternator...the new alternator had a big printed label on it saying 'Rare Part' !! no Joke. In total it cost me £230...i must admit to feeling a little violated....the last alternator I fitted was on my wifes Uno 900, it took me 20 minutes and cost £15. Its a good job I love this car hey?

re-con alternator
i had my alternator die on me just before christmas.rang a local auto elecs garage, where i knew they did alternator rewinds. he told me on the phone that it would take 5.5 hrs to complete, obviously having checked a computer system, (i assume). so..........for a recon alternator with 12 months guarantee, fitted, cost me £135, there or there abouts if i remember correctly. memory like a goldfish . all in all i think this was reasonable, although when i collected the car, he said it was a ******* of a job .
p.s gonna have a go at my cluth tomorrow, parts should be here first thing, and its snowing. got my new haynes to hand.......wish me luck hahaha Last edited by Dragrad; 24th October 2014 at 00:24.. Reason: Club Rule 2 breach |
