How could black light up at night or is it translucent black with a coloured filter behind
I tried it with electroluminescent sheet worked ok but I went with red leds in the end. I may try it again with the sheet though. Post a pic I want to see Ed |

just remember that black is the only colour that blocks light, everything else is translucent do a degree dependent on intensity.
Factor in the LED backlight colours and you can predict the output.
