Default Plomker parked across our warehouse entrance - had to send staff home

I have a small warehouse unit within a converted factory. One of those Regus / easyspace jobs where the old factory was converted into 90 smaller units.

This morning, someone has parked across our double door entrance meaning we cant get anything in or out - staff can squeeze past to get in but they cant do any work so have had to send them all home.

There is a sign in big, red writing saying - "No parking - entrance in constant use"

Because of this idiot, I have been unable to get any work done today and will lose several hundred pounds income but still have to pay my staff obviously.

Are there any legal types here who know if I can get the name and address of the owner of the car and if I would be ale to sue them for loss of earnings?

Sorry, but I would have smashed a side window, released the hand brake, pushed it out of the way and worried about the consequences afterwards!

I too would have done something similar, infact my old boss once instructed me to move a customers car with the forklift!

I think I could be sued for damaging a vehicle in that case, guys, no matter how tempting

A towbar and rope come to mind-been there and done that.

If there were a fire, would the fire department think twice about doing the same. The wheels of industry need to keep turning.

A replacement window (which you could argue over and the owner would have to prove was broken by you) would have been cheaper than your loss of business and wage bill for the day though!

surely if there is a no parking sign then you could have had the offending vehicle towed?

I would have gone the "smash or tow" route, and probably let his tyres down and kicked him in the bilges as well...

Annoying to put it mildly but any action taken to move it amounts to criminal damage.
Better to block it in so it cannot be moved. I did this when some chancer was consistently parking opposite my drive. I asked him to park further up the road or use his drive but replied that wife needed the drive. So I borrowed a luton from work and a friend brought a tipper round. Boxed him right in. In the morning he was at my door whining that he had a train to catch. Late for work that morning! Didn't need to do it again.
