Paninis
Three weeks ago I discovered the Panini whilst out for a pub lunch. Food of the Gods. How did I overlook these for so long. Anyhow, I now prepre these simply at home. After dusting down the George Foreman grill (previously banned by the wife for stinking up the kitchen) I used the bake at home baguettes filled with cheese and ham or cooked bacon etc. Butter the inside of baguettes first. Few minutes later a delicious snack.

Sounds nice. The wife had something similar but advocado instead of cranberry. It was her enjoyment of it that brought the George Foreman grill back into the game. For that I will be forever thankful.

Panini's are our staple food. We absolutely love them. Bought a Panini press a year or so ago and it's worth every penny. Our George Foreman did a good job but didn't squash them enough like you get them when eating out.
Our favourites are chicken and cheese and pepperoni, mushroom and cheese.

Sounds nice. I have to push the top of the GF down hard and they come out pretty flat. May invest in the proper press now I'm addicted

I think they are just an over-rated, over-priced toasted sandwich which I've been having and making for years!!!
And I think I had one of these back in the 70's. So nothing really new....

That's the down side, not a slim line snack! We are holidaying in Italy later in the year so will definitely be trying the real deal out there. I'll take the stretchy trousers just in case.

Your toasties look good though. I'll eat most things that have grilled cheese on it. |
