Default non starter and wont bump start

Hi all and thankyou for any help in advance . have just bought a rover 75 conoisuer (?) 2l v6 , it has been running and i was out in it today and all was fine there is a little steam coming from under the engine somewhere but that is another issue . after i stopped i topped up the water in the header and left the car for an hour when i came back i tried to start it and the starter motor is turning and if i put it in gear it will move the car however the engine just wont start ? i have tried bump starting it but it felt like i was towing someone who decided to hit the brakes . i hope it is something simple as i am getting it in the neck from the wife for buying such a big car to begin with . please please please can anyone give me some advice ????

Have you read up on FFS? It affects cars of your's age and stops 'em dead.

Try looking at the this thread, FFS is fuel filter syndrome or FOC for fabled orange clip, both relate to one and the same problem on petrol engine cars.

It's not in the engine bay, it's located underneath the rear seat cushion on the passenger side.

Off with the black inspection cover and vola Fuel Filter assembly part number WGS100072

Out with the fuel filter (next two pics courtesy of Tatts )

The fabled orange clip...

and on with said mod (this picture courtesy of Lates )

I have a brand new spare Orange Clip if you need one £6 delivered.

Is that a Monogram interior Reebs or a trick of the light? Bearing in mind I'm a bit colour blind.

Saw a green Monogram interior today and they sure do look classy. Would love one in Burgundy.
