Just a light scattering here, but we had a major event....

We saw a gritting lorry come down the street spreading grit for the first time ever in the 30 years I have lived here. Maybe the council has at last reponded to the complaints, unless the driver got himself lost.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

I lived in a cul de sac for 18 years and the council had a grit bin at the top of the street . The gritter never once came down the street yet we paid the same council tax as everyone else.

Generally only primary routes are required to be gritted (there are some additional requirements such as outside schools, hospitals and that sort of thing but only in the specific vicinity). Any extra depends on the availability of resources. Your street might have been a planned grit but it also might just be the driver using up what he had left before going back for another load - absolutely no point in him taking a part load back.

But before you get too ****-a-hoop (silly swear filter!) can I point out that the people who do the gritting are the ones who normally look for and fix potholes ..... so guess what, you're going to have even more of them in the next few days. The weather we are having at present is the prime cause of potholes so everywhere can expect an increased number. Taking these people off their normal duties to do the gritting is standard practice and an acceptable defence in court for the council not repairing potholes as quickly as they might otherwise do.

As above, most likely, but can't say for certain as you're in a different country. There are no issues about how much council tax you pay ..... you are perfectly at liberty to use the roads that are gritted just like anyone else.
