At the moment Jeff, we have a family of 7 Ibis living in the vicinity of the house, all wild. Because we have an outdoor swimming pool filled with salt water, the birds come to drink from it including the Ibis with the broken beak. To repair the beak, the Ibis would have to be darted and sedated. The lower mandible is vascular, move it wrongly and the bird could bleed to death. The beak would need wiring, possibly a plaster cast and then bottle fed. Those beaks are like daggers. The beak won’t grow again, but looking at it more closely, where the break is, it looks as though there is callous formation around the break. Time will tell if the Ibis adapts to its injury or not. This Ibis is a junior and it’s mum is still around. What I have seen in the newly born Ibis, is how the mum Ibis collects water and food in its own beak which it uses as a vessel to transport and feed the young in the nest. Let’s hope Mother Nature finds an answer.

G'day sun seekers - unbroken blue sky here, but perishingly cold.
Left the Club at 11.30pm last night - and had to scrape the windscreen it was so iced up. I have to admit - I've got the heating on Lunch for 8 at 1.00pm - I doubt there'll be many leftovers for a stew on Monday - my lot will soon demolish £13.50 worth of beef

Afternoon all, well it's been bright & breezy so I've had all the doors open on the garage to try & dry it out.....again
I've taken a couple of containers of that soup I made t'other day out of the freezer for tea with crusty bread. This clock going black an hour malarkey has upset my system I need this new Armstrong powerhouse Class 50 game The audio on it is very realistic but it will have to wait as I've just had to order a new monitor for the one that went belly up t'other day
