Admit it Brian you really loved it!

Try using the train in the West Country, it's not just the colourful women you have to put up with but insolent little so and so's who eff & jeff at the top of their voices while you are stood because of there only being one carriage and your squashed in like sardines.

Maybe I'll have to bring my own 'piles' ring.

It used to be fun on the central line when the train would jump in the air, which I think was near Bethnal Green.
It's not only North/South divide,i am sure our valley trains have been bought from "We buy any train." Seen a local bus today with " Cross city Service " painted on side. No cities around here,so must have been bought from "We buy any bus." Some times i take car to my neighbour fitter who has started up a repair garage in nearby town, then come back on local bus.
Must remember to never open a can of coke while travelling.

Excellent video, I don't remember the 50s on the West Coast Main Line but that video suggests they would have been awesome back in the day

Fermented fish in brine.

Having read that, "you have to open the tin outside" does make you wonder what it smells like.

But I would give it a go having eaten many other weird fish dishes over the years.

Difficult to describe the stench unless perhaps you’ve been inside a black liquor recovery boiler (pulp mill), or experienced a whiff or two of CS gas before getting your gas mask on.

As I’m, in this case thankfully, allergic to sea food can’t help with the taste but my Swedish wife says it’s stomach retching which is why surströmming is often consumed with lots of snaps.

It’s available from https://www.amazon.co.uk/Oskars-Surs.../dp/B01N9TDOXL - don a set of forensic clothing and head up on to the moors if you decide to try it.
