Cool Home via Matt's.....................................

.................................................. . with the aid of the recovery company taking me to Dr. Matt's.

Recovery kept me up to speed regarding the truck getting to me. The driver phoned and said he would be with me by 12.45. The colour coded truck, so good of them to send a Yellow one, was with me by 12.30. Banana started but would not rev without cutting out, but we coaxed out of the bay and got her lined up. She was soon winched aboard and tied down with straps round all four corners.

Estimated arrival at Matt's was 14.45. We got there at 14.30. The driver kept me entertained with stories about mis-haps that he has dealt with over the years. Just taking my mind off of things.
Matt was waiting for us and Banana was unloaded in a jiffy. Matt made the driver and I a cuppa. We just chatted.

Once the recovery had gone Matt set about putting Banana on the T4. Fault lay with the switch. T'other Matt, OxfordBlue75, phoned and offered good advice which Matt took on board. Sure enough the petrol pump was not working if the switch failed. But once Matt depressed the switch the pump would start and Banana would start. But as soon as Matt moved the switch so the engine died.

Matt had a spare inertia switch removed from a diesel 75. The ball bearing in the one fitted sounded very loose when turned but the other one, too be fitted, sounded tighter. Fitted and test drive done and Ole Yella was back to normal. So after another cuppa I made my way home.
Out dragged a Focus ST after the roadworks on the A38, I let him past, and got the thumbs up from the driver and passenger.

Some photo's from the day. We had a informal mini meet with a few friends at the museum.
