Default It's official... road tax gone up

Yes, road tax gone up that's an extra 88p on my monthly direct debit.
Equates to an extra £10.56 a year..... ah! well the M'P's are all due a rise especially with their summer holidays coming up.

It must be policy to tax old cars off the road. A colleague has just part exchanged his 10 plate Land Rover Discovery against a 16 plate Mercedes estate. £540 or £20 per year was one of his reasons for doing so.

In the budget of 2018, VED was linked to the rate of inflation. This equates to approximately a £5 increase year on year without any further notification from the government. If your vehicle is 150g c02 or over, the rise is approximately £15 , year on year.

Didn't you post up this same thing a couple of weeks back?

Road tax has increased every year I've been driving, I don't get the big surprise

Ah, the delights of driving on Britain's green and pleasant roads, can you ask for anything better, I dare say it will come a point when running a car will become very expensive.

I don't take any notice myself either, I pay monthly and it just keeps going.

Looking at those prices mine would be 710 Euros, ouch!

Do you get an exemption for 40+ year old vehicles?
