Some however dont know when to leave it.

Some members are hero worshipped and some are disliked and thats just the way of the world .

This thread is a typical example of what I am saying.

It,s when venom is introduced problems arise.
And the vultures start to circle to take a small piece. I used to get involved with my typing 5 seconds ahead of my brain. I am chilled now. I just sit back with my popcorn which I keep a box in my cupboard for such occasions

I have been on here long enough now to realise now when not to get involved like many others (read my signature)

Actually I think my popcorn is near its use by date so I think I will set up a thread on the main forum of why diesels are better than petrol's PMSL

Yep. From your posts about you allotment George and all the caricatures there, I can only imagine the place to look like something like the Somme, with barbed wire around plots and trenches and oh yes, vegetables

Rather succinctly put George.

Which is from where it then escalates..........

So at these times spare a thought for Rule 1 of the FAQ's

1. You should remain courteous and respectful to other users of the forums at all times. You may obviously not agree with some views but do not let it descend into arguments or abuse, either publicly or via the Private Messaging (PM) facility. If you consider a post to be offensive then you should report it, not take matters into your own hands.

We do have a report post button, and all the mods get a notification when it's pressed. We are volunteers however, so cannot / will not always be available to respond straight away.

BTW I have read your PM Pete, but want time to consider its contents

You are always going to get mixed opinions and clashes of personality on forums.

As you say Sean, when people actually meet up they tend to realise how much they have in common with everyone else and generally everyone gets on just fine.

A bit of banter is good, some just need to remember to not get personal about things.

The problem with text is that it is just text, emotion etc is hard to come across. Liberal use of smilies is required!

i agree with Tom,,,

this one in particular is used as an insult to others comments or action a little too often, and can be offensive in interpretation where the text is perhapse not clear...

most tend to use this when refering to thier own mistakes, but some can use it as a humiliation tool...
