Default Reset remapped MG ZT 1.8 Turbo to factory

I purchased a 2004 MG ZT 1.8t as a non runner with a cracked piston a melted piston and many other issues caused by some very bad amateur mechanic and an amount of k-seal I did not think it was possible to fit in a water cooled turbo engine (it wasn't water cooled anymore:-)

I have dropped a good new engine in and got rid of all of the boy racer bits (those days are a bit behind me now). The only thing left is the ecu which was remapped by zandf tuning apparently to 198 bhp.

The car just feels gutless in the lower rev range off boost compared to my identical standard mg zt 1.8t.

It's due on the rolling road tomorrow part curiosity and as I am worried about the ecu being the reason behind the piston damage, so its been driven very gently since the rebuild.

All I want is for the ECU to be put back to 100% as it rolled out of the factory.

Does anyone know a cost effective way/firm to do this for me.

Any other suggestions for a gutless performance off boost would also be welcome.

Get it connected up to T4 and it's easily reverted back to standard

If the car feels gutless in the lower rev range then there is something not right. The z & f map makes it fly from very low revs. Check other things first .

Sounds like the turbo has had it to me, after the engine failure!

I really don't think its the map at fault here.

By all means have it removed but don't be expecting miracles.

New turbo fitted, as the last one was blown by the k-seal addiction of the former owner. I had to drill it out of the turbo coolant connector and replace the pipes. Plus the power is down off boost, once its on boost its fine.

It's silky smooth do drive, but just does not feel as peppy as my other one 1k to 3.5k.

I may just be paranoid because of the many problems its had had, it may dyno up over its standard 160? Where would I find T4 (I am in Sussex)

Hows the compression? Timing spot on?

Compressions fine.

Timing issue is possible I suppose? Its all correctly aligned on the markers, but when the used engine arrived and it was being stripped down the belt on it was two teeth out on alinement?

Thought it odd at the time, but then I have seen worse.
