I tried it with electroluminescent sheet worked ok but I went with red leds in the end. I may try it again with the sheet though.

think about it, you can see an absence of light just as well as you can see light, the numbers on the standard dials do not glow, the background does...

I see but to be honest that is where MGR went wrong imho. The ZT ipk looked acceptable during the day but not great at night.

Effective night illumination requires an opaque background with only the numbers and notches allowing light to shine through.

This is how major manufacturers do it and to be fair so do Metal Monkey with their replacement dials. I set myself a goal to replicate this for my ZTT and to add illuminated needles.

That is also achievable with mostly solid black and white only on the letters / numbers. the white is not ink, it is the absence of it (i.e the background is white and translucent)

See the Porsche all black design on the website below..

I hate to say this, but the angle of bend in the banana on your Rev counter does not conform to EU Banana regulations

I have asked them to post some this evening if possible...

I check every set under white and orange LED's before I send them out to make sure I am happy and I mist admit these looked good and so did red 5's
...

Banana does sound lovely but you can boil an egg in the tome it takes to empty the tank...

if you are lucky you may get to see his new show banners as well...
