If you did the windscreen, backbox, a good few months tax and approaching a years MOT, then I'd chance your arm at £1695 with a view to settling on £1500...
How much tax and test is on it? Gut feeling is you will struggle. People only want diesels. Mine is pretty much perfect now and know I'd struggle to get £800 for it.  Depending on tax/MOT/tyres, I'll have a chat with the Mrs, might be able to work something out
