Default proud new owner of a 1.8T

Hi all, ive been lurking on here for a few weeks now trying to get a feel for the place. After my highly modified ford cougar turned into a colander for its last MOT I decided it wasnt worth the money to put it back on the road again (I think tin worm had a firm hold in the end)

So once I decided on the replacement car, I went in search of a ZT 1.8T due to the fact it appears to respond well to tuning, and in the past I owned a 75 1.8 NA, lovely car but at the time I felt it was a little under powered.

I picked up a fairly nice example in the shape of a silver ZT 1.8T WITH 70K 3 weeks ago for just £1000. Due to not getting much history with the car I have had all the belts changed, new discs and pads all round, new water pump, track rods and both poly bushes for the rear engine mount.

Now then, due to me being the type that likes to modify, ive also had the rear windows tinted, wind deflectors fitted, air induction filter, dump valve (directly onto turbo) Z&F remap (absolutely amazing) and theres many more modifications yet to do, and to think......I told the wife this car would remain standard!

The next mod will most likely be a cat back exhaust, due to the fact the wrong backbox has been fitted and the whole system rattles and bangs on the underbody over any slight bump. So after a little research and some good weather. I plan to fabricate a 2.5inch system (im no stranger to shiney home built mods) ;-)

Welcome to the forum. The 1.8T is very underrated, it's a peach of an engine.

Probably goes against the grain but I SO prefer the facelift to the MK1 Zed !
