yep it's solid cam conversion of a brand new vvc head with custom ground cams, along with stronger springs/caps and verniers to get it just right
Some porting to match up to the vvc inlet manifold but vvc casting is already renowned for being a very good flowing factory head. Oh forgot, my 380cc injectors turned up as well so fueling should be a little closer to what it's going to need now. Best pull my finger out and get the old head off the car, all stripped ready, but just no time with nice enough weather so far, but will get there. Also got a sandblasting cabinet today, so i can get the vvc inlet looking nice before powder coating and the addition of those things i mentioned to you before Tom that go into the individual inlet ports |

How jolly exciting!
If you need a home for the old head then I would mind one to work on ...

All gone with the upgraded kit going on. Also now need to stick on ebay the brand new vvc cams, actuator mechs etc as never even turned a wheel before they got ripped out Lotus/Caterham boys often after them so i hear |

GeraintUK's MLC ZT-T160
Good stuff, and thanks mate. I'll take the inlet manifold too if you like Wasn't Brian after a poorly turbo?
Yeah the VVC bits should be worth something. I'll have a stab at port matching the manifold and then build the head up, doubt I'll do much more than a quick porting and valve job, but might go oversize and source a mild cam. I'm probably more excited about yours being done than you are!!

ok, so after discovering the damage on the liner on number 3 chamber it's brought forward the plans for a forged bottom end.
So i've decided to be a complete and utter fool and see just how much this ol k series can handle. First parts were ordered yesterday (going to have to be a month by month purchase given the costs): I had lined up a GT2056 turbo as an easy bolt on upgrade over the GT2052 as I felt I was only looking to do bolt on upgrades, but that's given way to my Clarkson school of thought of balls out, power, more power and some more for good measure, so i've just ordered a somewhat bigger turbo.... GTRX2560 with a Tial housing and then a Tial 44mm MVR External Wastegate plus all v-band stainless fittings. It's now all going on a one off tubular manifold that will be made up once the blower arrives from the states. Other item in this months purchase order was a steel crank with Isotopic Superfinish. If you've seen that I think you'll know to what level of spec the engine is now being built to Hoping it will all be ready by end of August but work restraints on my time to do stuff as well as the engine builder means might not be done as quickly as I wanted, but you have to do these things correct or not bother at all now, nobody tell the mrs |
