Default Cheap tyres!

How can someone not notice the state of their tyres on their car when it's next to the drivers door?
When this car was spotted by the law it was being used at the time to pick the kids up from school.

A local independent tyre depot used to have a rogues gallery or pictures of tyres like this, when ever anybody came in and asked for a cheap tyre he would point at the board and asked if they were sure that is what they wanted?

He had a policy that he would not sell any tyres made by a manufacturer he had not heard of as he said he could sleep soundly at night.

He was showing me a set of tyres he had removed from a Focus, they had done less than a 1000 miles and had pieces of tread missing and the sidewalls of 2 were bulging. The owner of the car they were fitted to had purchased they from a mobile fitter and the car was shaking on the motorway. Ironically they were made by a company called Goodride.
