Bonnet open sensor
Hi,
Is there a "how to" for replacing a bonnet sensor? I foolishly soaked the sensor when cleaning the engine bay last week, which set the bonnet open sensor off. A week later it is still showing bonnet open, and setting the alarm off every time I lock the car. Also, is there a simple way to lock the car without setting the alarm, with the wife's Honda, you just relock the car within 5 seconds of locking it to disable the alarm, is there some thing similar on the ZT? The Bonnet sensor can be removed if you use two very small flat headed screwdrivers, and I mean very small you can gently prise it up and out,

I use a credit or store card, put one at either side and push and lift upwards.

Remove the rubber boot, as suggested use a pair of half credit cards to push back the locking tabs just under the panel. You need to pull out the swich, dry it and the plug inside. It may be OK, but those pins are tiny!
Edit to add - to lock without setting the alarm you have to manually lock the front and one back door from the other back door. Last edited by minimutly; 9th March 2019 at 16:02.. |

when my bonnet sensor played up I saw a post either on this forum or the dot org...you get out of the car, close the doors the open rear door and press the door button on the centre console.. that was on a pre facelift so don't know if It applies to the later rover..
oops just seen the post above.... |
