Drivers foot mat clips
Hi,
How are the mats kept in place in the drivers footwell. I have some round plastic clips sticking out of the carpet, which I assume will hold the new mats in place. Do they just pull out to fit the new mat, or is there some clever technique involved? Also, are new clips available, and If so, what are they properly called? Phil |

They are on Rimmers' website - £1.72 each. Details as follows:
EAJ100120 Hook-floor cover carpet retention - EAJ100120 - Genuine MG Rover Postage is expensive so not worth ordering them IMHO unless you're buying some other items. If you have genuine Rover floor mats for a car with the hooks (i.e. mats as standard equipment) they have 2 holes near the rear edge. Bend the mat down so the holes are nearly vertical and slide the mat forwards into the footwell. The hooks slot into the holes and hold the mat in place. If your car doesn't have mats as standard you need the other type of mat which comes with vinyl screws which twist through the mat into the carpet underneath.

Plenty on eBay, although mine keep pulling out because the carpet is slightly torn and with my short legs the mat can get caught on the seat lol

Those are the twist lock type.
The alternate type are still available - search for: EAJ100120 Hook-floor cover carpet retention - EAJ100120 - Genuine MG Rover Might be easier to use strong Velcro, though!
