Near side dipped beam not working.
2003 MG ZT 135+ CDTi - Standard Headlights.
Passenger side dipped beam not working. On investigation I found that the cable has been trapped against the bodywork and has worn through, I am now getting no power at all to dipped beam. I was hoping it had just blown a fuse but the lights don’t have individual fuses. I have checked the headlight unit and bulb by running a live directly from the battery to test. All other front lights are working. Any Ideas would be appreciated, thank you. |

Only way is to repair the broken wire properly by soldering and heatshrinking it
If you've done that and it still isn't working then you'll have to meter out the wires to check if there's continuity. Getting to it can be difficult depending on where abouts the break is and you may have to remove things to get better access. Russ

I have checked it with meter but wire has no current, next plan was to trace wire back a foot or so to see if its has a second break.
If I try a different LSM will it mess the mileage up? |

If you have also lost the RH main beam and the number plate lamps, check fusible link 9 in the engine fuse panel.

Hi Mate,
If the loom is broken/damaged the LSM will detect the fault (no load from the headlight bulb) and cut the power as a safety measure. First thing to do, is repair the loom and retest. Depending on what you find, go from there. If you need me to take a look, pop down.
