LUK slave or Tazu metal?
Hi All,
Just a quick question: I am planning to do an engine + DMF + clutch slave replacement in the near future. Should I go for a Genuine LUK slave cylinder or a Tazu metal cylinder? The price are about the same, depending on where I buy them. |

Just used a metal one, after a plastic one had given up.
Clutch would still fine for at least another 50.000 to 100.000km....Dual mass flywheel ok and has done 340.000km. On another 75 and clutch replaced (LUK slave as not metal one on the shelf) at 285.000km about a year ago. Dual mass flywheel was ok then and as well as after doing about 50.000km since then. Based on this propose to check the play of the flywheel as often replacement it is not needed. Both diesels. Rob

OH an engine swap by beinet1!!! Will we get pictures? Which engine are you planning to swap? For what reasons? Thanks so much for taking the time to share what you do, without your post, I would not have attempted to do my own KV6 timing belts change. |

The Luk one is proven over 10+ years of service on a very large nuumber of cars and miles.
I have gone for the Luk master and slave at clutch replacement time and they have provided a long trouble-free service. I wil be doing the same again with the 1.8 at some stage rather than changing over to parts which have theoretical prospect of longevity. |

You have done well.
I've consistently failed to get anything like 10 years out of a LUK slave cylinder. . Last edited by Mike Noc; 13th October 2016 at 22:12.. |
