Hi MM, just to advise you that yes the wiring is likely to exist in your car for such luxury, Here is a good place to start looking:
Remove the two kick panels at the footwells, the ones I mean are the ones where the drivers one has the bonnet release lever and boot switch (If fitted). Process is to remove the plastic pin near the bulkhead end (Push fit plastic mushroom headed chaps) then pull away progressively away to release a metal sprung clip from the body near the front lower section (Door opening area being the front on this occasion) Now disconnect the services to the switch if fitted and allow the release lever freedom to the release position and pull the panel towards you. Now you will see loads of wiring, what you are looking for is a pair of purply coloured wires which have the appropriate socket to match the plug on the visors. Sometimes the wiring is hidden from view, so a mirror and light may assist you here. Having found the wiring, you will need to mouse this up the "A" pillars, best method is to remove the pillars at the top only as the whole thing doesn't need taking off! Now with a length of net curtain wire and some patience with the original visor removed, pass the net wire down the centre of the large hole and guide it to the floor, tape up the plug to the wire, and gently pull the net wire up slowly. When the plug appears, remove the tape, connect the visor, drop the net cable out of the channel, and screw the hinge to the roof. This may take a couple of goes, but usually quite successful once you get enough practice. Same rule applies to the passengers side and then a simple re-assembly to finish off. Hope this helps - JohnH. |
