Default Navall 3 fitting - NOT wiring!

It's driving me mad - everything works fine BUT the bottom of the unit swings out from the dash no matter what I try (grinded/bent the brackets etc), I've had a Wince CE and a Navall 2 and they all fitted ok, or at least much better...... this one? nope. I took the AC unit out today and had a feel behind today and nothing is pushing it forward so I'm at a loss. I'd love two screws at the bottom to fix it as well as the two at the top but before I over engineer something has anyone got a cunning plan?

Use the M6 bolt on the back of the unit to stabilize/line it up against the bulkhead.

I always take the air con controls out when removing /fitting the radio, it is a lot easier to sort the wires out.

With the AC unit out, you can get a small screwdriver behind the two metal clips that secure the lower edge, simply prize the clips out to lock the unit in place. If that's not enough, insert a small wedge behind the clip to hold it in place

no spring clips on a Navall 3 apparently....

We now have a meccano bracket at the back, better but not good enough really for my OCD thing about expensive stuff needing to fit properly.....

I have another idea however

They should just fit without messing about like this though

I won't be buying another one however and I regret buying this one really as it's probably now obsolete already as there is now a new one, I was quite happy with the Navall 2, the touch screen broke and although I haven't yet I may as well have stuck it or the £250 I paid for it new 2 years ago in the bin because apparently you can't fix it......... poor tbh

Hi Sean,

I can see no clips on the body of the DD and there is no room to fit a cage..

The best resolve I could see with the rear of the unit being close to the firewall and the cabling just clearing, was to support the back / bottom edge of the case against a small shelf in the area and wedge it up to give a flush fit.

The other alternative would be to tap out the case say M3 and fit a brace bar just behind the front bottom lip to trap it behind the consul facia...

If they exist that would be good Sean

It is so annoying, I have no problem at all with with how it works (far from it in fact) and I know there is plenty of room behind for it to sit flush because if you push the bottom of the front in it's happy to do it....... getting it to stay there is seemingly another issue entirely however
