What mileage do you get from your Tyres
Hi I was just checking the history of my car and wondered what mileage you are getting with your tyres.
I have had Avon ZV3 = 22892 Firestone TZ300 = 20343 Avon = ZV5 TL = 35163 Avon ZT5 H91 = 22384 (on the fronts)(understandable living in Cornwall, a lot of car and a lot of bends) Avon ZT5 H91 = 26102 (on rear and still have 441 mm on the tread) So what do you get on yours. |

Not kept so accurate records as you but have had approximately Continental factory fitted=22000 Michellin pilots=30000 Michellin energy savers=28000 Continental wintercontact ts830=25000 Avon zv5=24000 Michellin energy savers=still on Continental wintercontacts= had one season out of them and will go back on when it gets cold enough. On the other car it has only had the one set in my ownership, but have done already 10000 on a set of dunlop sportblue. Honestly dont care what miles i get out of these because they are absolutely the quietest and most comfortable tyres of the lot, but they are wearing well and should easily match 25k if not more. |

Fitted four brand new Falkens to my Meteors last month. 500 miles and a huge shard of glass later I've already had to replace one! (The hole was too damaged to repair according to a nearby Kwikfit garage and fortunately they had an identical tyre in stock). Embarrassingly I had to get the RAC out because the plastic nut holding the spare in place was on so tightly that neither he nor I could get it off without a hammer.

My previous car a Reanult when I first had it there was 2 Michelin's on the front. o/s needed replacing and n/s half worn. I was advised to put Khumos on..... I had fitted 2 Khumos to the O/S before replacing that N/S. then they all got replaced with Michelin's
I then learned that you can trade cheapness for miles. Last edited by MevagisseyMedic; 9th October 2015 at 19:01.. |

Can't really say on my R75, but when I had the Avensis I fitted some new 17" Nokians and I eventually had to bin them at about 50000-odd Miles....
And the still looked like this:

I always change my tyres before they get to the wear pads, usually around 2/2.5 mm. I get around 20,000/22,000 miles.Goodyear Efficient Grip.

I had two Goodyears fitted to the back of my 75 last year. They lasted about 10k.
Two Avons on the front lasted around 18k. All tyres wore unevenly and I had the lot replaced this year, with full wheel alignment. One of the biggest downfalls on the 75 IMO.

Not taken any notice of my mileage in our 75, I do however keep a check on my van tyres, Michelin Agilys fitted 12,800 miles ago and I still have about 6mm on the fronts and 5.5mm on the rears And those tyres work for a living as they were only fitted on the 27th of August
